Where A Community Of Friends Come Together
The Appleton Area Newcomer’s Club hosts many different interest groups. The activities decided by the membership and meet monthly. Each activity has a chairperson to coordinate locations, dates, and the activity itself. Chairpersons are volunteers within the membership and can rotate yearly. If there is something you’d like to do, just get involved and with your help we can make it happen.
Book Discussion Group
Members meet for a monthly discussion and review of the month’s chosen book. Daytime and evening groups.
Bridge: Ladies and Couples
6 No Trump! Come relax and enjoy an afternoon or evening of cards.
Roll the dice with this fun, easy game.
Coffee without Children
Join us for coffee and conversation. Just bring yourself!
Euchre: Ladies and Couples
Have a great time playing this fun, easy card game. No experience required, new learners welcome. There are several daytime and evening groups that meet to play euchre.
Golf: Ladies’ and Men’s
Enjoy the outdoors, enjoy the game and make new friends.
Join us as we try out restaurants all over the area (not necessarily gourmet!) Couples or individuals welcome.
Play tournament-style Texas Hold 'em with an initial $20 buy-in and an optional second buy-in. Pot will be split 70/30 for 1st and 2nd place.
Out to Lunch Bunch
Enjoy having lunch at different restaurants in the area each month.
Stage and Screen
Whether it’s a Tuesday $5 movie matinee, catching a local high school or community theatre event, or going for something at the PAC, this group gathers for the applause.
Play the American version of the Chinese game, Mah Jongg. It is a fun and challenging game similar in many ways to Gin Rummy, but is played with tiles instead of cards.
Enjoy a different wine each time. Each person brings
1 or 2 bottles of wine and an appetizer or dessert. No wine snobs, just a great time!
Socials and Gatherings
Socials are held quarterly or more often. Information about upcoming socials and gatherings will be included in your monthly newsletter. For those with children, childcare is provided during luncheon events at the Appleton YMCA for a minimal fee.
